So, I just finished reading Gone Girl; I know I am late to the party, but better late than never, right? For years my friend has been telling me to watch the movie, but I never did because I don’t really like watching movies, unless the movies are “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy the extended edition. Gone Girl is a crime thriller novel that follows the story of Nick and Amy, a married couple living in North Carthage, Missouri. In the morning of their fifth anniversary, Amy disappeared, and the mess left behind suggested foul play, with the prime suspect being Nick. It’s always the husband, you know? Sounds like a very simple plot, but oh boy how wrong I was. Reading this book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. The “he said she said” narration had me hooked. This book is addictive and full of twists and turns; I couldn’t put it down until I got the answers I wanted: “Is Amy dead?”” Did Nick really kill her?”” Is there any other villain out there who might’ve kidnapped her?” I couldn’t sleep.I had to keep reading. I needed answers. From the start till almost the end, this book never failed to amaze. Yup, you read it right till almost the end. I found the ending disappointing, but since this is a spoiler-free review, I won’t go into details about it. Nevertheless, this book was amazing and worth a read especially if you are a fan of mystery novels.
